2011 Vascular Society Annual Scientific meeting

The 2011 Vascular Society Annual meeting will be held in Edinburgh on Wednesday 23rd to Friday 25th November in the award winning Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC). The EICC is extremely well located and boasts excellent road and rail links. Almost everything is within walking distance in this vibrant and compact city.
The Society's meeting offers a highly educational programme which will include lectures and symposia on a variety of vascular and endovascular topics, as well as an increased number of high quality abstracts promoting pioneering research into vascular disease.
Due to the success encountered in the previous years, both the Educational Masterclass and Endovascular Workshop will be running again. The latter is dedicated this year to EVAR planning for consultants and will comprise a number of lectures followed by practical hands-on training on endovascular devices to be faciliated by experts in the field. Places for both events are limited. The meeting will include dedicated sessions for the Venous forum, SARS, BSET, the SVT and SVN together with meetings for the Rouleaux Club and JVRG. The Vascular Society Annual Dinner will be held in the on Thursday 24th November in the Grand Gallery at the National Museum of Scotland.
Recently re-launched following major restoration, the venue is now one of UK's largest museums. Guests will be able to dine in the midst of exhibits ranging from a life-sized skeleton cast of a Tyrannosaurus Rex to specimens collected by Charles Darwin and 3,000 year old mummies. (80% of the 20,000 exhibits in this venue are on display for the first time in generations).
The Saturns will be providing the entertainment for the evening; A 5 piece band, featuring fantastic male and female vocals performing contemporary pop, dance and indie chart hits to the standard repertoire of songs from the sixties through the decades, from Lady Gaga and the Black Eyed Peas, to the Kings of Leon and the Beatles.
Dinner tickets cost £70 for Members and Guests, with a reduced rate for SVN and SVT members of £50. The ticket price includes the cost of a champagne reception, three course meal, live band and coach transfer.
